Many of you have told us why Barnsdall art Park has remained such an important part of your lives. We're very happy to share some of those personal stories with you.
"I'm so happy to support the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation. To be honest, I wish I could enjoy Barnsdall more than I do, though I’m sure I will someday! I love the classes offered and the creative community that those classes draw together. What caught my eye in the fundraising appeal was the UNESCO World Heritage Site distinction which I’ve come to associate with some of my favorite places on Earth, so I wasn’t surprised to see it here. I’ve walked the park many times and stared at the architecture trying to imagine myself inside. Because the park is situated within walking distance of Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, the park provided me with a peaceful place to reflect and ground myself during troubling times, and days spent at the hospital with loved ones. It was truly a refuge in the middle of modern chaos. I can’t wait for the wine tastings and concerts to come back! And I’m grateful for this beautiful resource in our neighborhood." — Amy Conroy
"When I was asked if we would support Barnsdall Art Park we were happy to do so. My wife has used the facilities for years, particularly the ceramics studio. My daughters have also taken art classes there, and years ago they performed at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre with their school, LILA, which lacked a theater of its own. That is a particularly good resource. Many of our friends have exhibited in the Galleries as well, including my wife, and they have a very good program. I should say that I am an architecture fan and am intrigued with the Hollyhock House. As you know, Silverlake and Los Feliz is one of the creative centers of LA and it is a great tribute to have this resource here for the residents! Thank you for leading its stewardship." — Christopher James
