BARNSDALL ART CENTER & JUNIOR ARTS CENTER
the BARNSDALL ART CENTER (BAC) and JUNIOR ARTS CENTER (JAC) have fostered creativity through engaging and publicly accessible classes for adults and children for over 50 years.
Approximately 75 modestly priced classes are offered each year in an array of subjects, including photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, design, jewelry, sculpture, and music. Each session, an average of 500 to 700 students are taught by a select staff of distinguished teaching artists whose work is widely exhibited in Los Angeles and beyond. Every year, more than 2,000 people attend art workshops, special programs, and exhibitions held at the Junior Arts Gallery. The BAC and JAC nurture and inform new generations of passionate local artists and provide a critical supplement to the Los Angeles public education system.
