LOS ANGELES MUNICIPAL ART GALLERY

the LOS ANGELES MUNICIPAL ART GALLERY (LAMAG) has highlighted pioneering, creative expressions through groundbreaking curated exhibitions and programs since 1954.

LAMAG focuses on the exceptional work of emerging and underrepresented artists. The Gallery serves as a welcoming public venue for all to discover, examine, and discuss the nuances of the city through contemporary art. As the longest running institution in Los Angeles devoted solely to exhibiting art, LAMAG has proudly showcased the early work of local talents who evolved into leaders of the global art world, including Eleanor Antin, John Baldessari, Mark Bradford, Vija Celmins, David Hammons, Barbara Kruger, Kerry James Marshall, Senga Nengudi, Catherine Opie, and Ed Ruscha. In the 2018–2019 fiscal year, the gallery welcomed over 18,000 visitors to its exhibitions. LAMAG exhibitions have been featured in many publications, including the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Magazine, Artforum, Art in America, Hyperallergic, and Designboom.
