PARK RESOURCES

Barnsdall Art Park’s extraordinary resources are owned by the City of Los Angeles, operated by the Department of Cultural Affairs, and maintained by the Department of Recreation and Parks and the Department of General Services.

Visionary philanthropist, artist, art collector, and activist, Aline Barnsdall, donated the stunning hilltop site to the people of Los Angeles in 1927 as a public destination for the appreciation of art and architecture.

The 11.5-acre park, located at 4800 Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of the East Hollywood community, includes four distinctive, complementary entities:

HOLLYHOCK HOUSE

LOS ANGELES MUNICIPAL ART GALLERY

BARNSDALL GALLERY THEATRE

BARNSDALL ART CENTER & JUNIOR ARTS CENTER
