Is photography allowed at Hollyhock House?
Visitors may take photos outside, but photography is not permitted inside the museum. For media inquiries, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
May I have food and beverages inside Hollyhock House?
No, but you’re welcome to enjoy a picnic in Barnsdall Art Park, which is free and open to the public 5 am–10 pm daily.
May I carry my bag into Hollyhock House?
For the safety of our museum, we ask that you check large bags. Small bags are okay.
Are strollers permitted inside Hollyhock House?
No, strollers may be left on the pergola at the residence’s entrance but are stored there at your own risk.
Is sketching permitted inside Hollyhock House?
Yes, but please no ink pens or markers.
May I re-enter Hollyhock House once I’ve stepped outside?
Absolutely, just make sure you’re still wearing an admission sticker when you come back. For self-guided tours, tickets are valid all day.
Do I need to buy tickets in advance?
Advance ticket purchase is not required for Self-Guided tours but is strongly advised for all docent-led tours. With a maximum of 10 people per tour, they generally sell out in advance.
If I purchased tickets online, do I need to print in advance?
No printing required! When you arrive at the Visitor Center, our admission associate will look up your order using your last name.
May I buy tickets onsite?
Yes, you can purchase tickets upon arrival in the Visitor Center. Please be advised that docent-led tours often sell out in advance and we only accept credit/debit cards (no cash).
Do I need to let someone know if I’m bringing a large group to Hollyhock House?
Yes, if you plan to bring a group of 20+ for a self-guided tour, please contact us at email@example.com prior to purchasing tickets.
How accessible is the museum?
Hollyhock House offers various accessibility services, so everyone may enjoy the museum to the fullest extent possible. If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (323) 913-4030. Onsite staff are also available to assist with accessibility.
May I bring my pet?
Sorry, no pets allowed. Service animals are permitted and must wear provided paw covers while inside the museum.
What shoes should I wear?
Please wear flat or broad-heeled shoes (with a minimum heel width of 2 inches). Shoe covers will be provided.
May I have an event at Hollyhock House?
The museum is not available as a location for private events, photo shoots, filming, or fundraisers. For media inquiries, please contact email@example.com.
Is Hollyhock House closed for certain holidays?
The museum is closed every Monday and on the following holidays in 2018:

Thursday, November 22nd (Thanksgiving)
Friday, November 23rd (Day after Thanksgiving)
Tuesday, December 25th (Christmas Day)
Tuesday, January 1st (New Year’s Day 2019)
