Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery
As the premier exhibition facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs since it opened in 1972, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery attempts to enrich our community through exhibition and educational programs which interpret California contemporary art.
The facility’s expansive exhibition space accommodates large, thematic group and solo exhibitions which reflect the current or retrospective work of area artists.
Artists, curators and interpretive writers are provided opportunities. School groups visit weekday mornings to explore exhibitions.
The Department of Cultural Affairs’ Slide Registry is housed at the Gallery.
It contains images of the work of artists from throughout the state of California and is open for the use of curators and others interested in the visual arts of California.
Call Mary Oliver, Registrar, for more information, including membership information.
