Residence A Photo Contest
Residence A, the Hollyhock House guesthouse designed by Frank Lloyd Wright is about to undergo a major restoration. Donated to the City of Los Angeles in 1927, the guesthouse became a center for youth activity called “Barnsdall Playground” and “Barnsdall Arts and Crafts Center”.
Take a moment to search through your, your parent’s or grandparent’s photo albums. We are interested in photographs taken at Residence A from 1920 through 1960. Snapshots of people, art classes, events or other activities could have the information we’re looking for!

Prize Winners: Five winners will receive a tour of Residence A prior to its reopening with
curator Jeffrey Herr. Winners will be notified by February 1st, 2017. Winning photographs
will also be acknowledged on social media platforms.
You retain the rights to your photograph(s); however, by entering the contest, you grant Hollyhock House (and those authorized by Hollyhock House) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any Hollyhock House purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of its website, exhibition, and commercial products. Any photograph(s) reproduced will include a photographer credit if known. Hollyhock House will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
