In addition to providing general support for all entities on the Hill, we also fund and organize a number of exciting programs:
Barnsdall Arts Sundays: Completely Free Family Art Workshops for children of all ages, every Sunday. The Foundation board recently voted to extend this very successful program through 2010.
Living Arts Program: Free art classes for children and adults with disabilities. We are funding this valuable arts outreach program through 2010.
Hollyhock House Restoration Fund: The tours of Hollyhock House given during our Barnsdall Fridays wine tastings have raised thousands of dollars for the restoration and rehabilitation of this historic house, which was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places.
Capital Projects: The Barnsdall Art Park Foundation has funded the construction of a landmark monument sign, which will be positioned at the Hollywood Boulevard entrance. It’s a long-awaited improvement to increase the Park’s visibility. The redesign of the Gallery Lobby, restoration of Residence A, the conversion of the Chauffeur’s Quarters and Motor Court into a cafe/bookstore, and the implementation of a glassblowing program are also projects currently in development.
